Rhapsody, CMT and One Country Make a Difference
Music is one of the few things in life that is universal and can be loved and enjoyed by everyone. While tastes vary, it is the one language that everyone understands. So, how fitting that music is able to not only transcend language and culture barriers, but now it can actually help those most in need all around the world? Rhapsody is teaming up with Country Music Television’s ONE COUNTRY initiative to provide help where it’s needed most. From now until the CMA’s, Rhapsody will donate the proceeds from all purchased MP3s by any CMA nominated artist to their charity of choice.
The annual Country Music Awards are being held in Nashville on June 16. Every nominated artist has selected a charity that they want to support. The charities range from various organizations for children to AIDS research in Africa to helping our furry friends. In addition to the proceeds of purchased MP3s, the fans (that’s YOU) can log onto CMT to vote for your favorite country artists and your favorite country categories (What, no category for best cowboy boots?). The winners, chosen by you, will have a donation sent to their charity on behalf of CMT and ONE COUNTRY. Last year, ONE COUNTRY donated over $70,000 to the various charities.
This is SUCH an easy way to make a difference in the world. And let’s face it, there are a lot of people who need a little extra love these days. Do your part. Log on to CMT’s site, check out the nominees, listen to their music and if you like what you hear, snag some MP3s. Then be sure to vote on CMT.com for the winners and tune into the awards show on June 16 to see if the artist and charity you voted for wins!
