Are You Ready for Some Football (ads)?

Each year millions of Americans tune in to the most outrageous advertising event in the world. Millions upon millions of dollars are spent for mere seconds of advertising time on one of the country’s premier network stations. Oh, there’s also some sports event going on that day, but really, we’re in it for the ads.

The Super Bowl is as much of a show in commercial power as it is sports phenomenon. While a huge chunk of people are tuning in to see the Cardinals embarrass the Steelers, we can’t forget the rest- the people who don’t know the difference between a touchdown and a first down. The people who are at the parties for the food and the camaraderie. The people who are there for the ads.

Super Bowl ads have been a major water cooler topic for decades, but none has been more discussed than Apple’s 1984 ad which took one of the most politically charged stances, ever, in a Super Bowl ad. In a cold war era, Apple showed that they weren’t afraid to take risks with their ads- something they’re still known for today. Besides the 1984 ad, there have been many memorable -and light-hearted – Super Bowl ads over the years, and sometimes you just want to keep them so you can go back and review their awesomeness for years to come. But how?

With the advent of and insanely quick progression of technology, most of the ads can be found on video-sharing sites like YouTube or Vimeo mere minutes after they air. But sometimes finding them can be a bit tricky and time consuming. With RealPlayer11, you can save all of your favorite ads with a simple click of your mouse button, and have them stored in your easy-to-find library. And, lucky for you, we’ve compiled some of the best Super Bowl ads ever. Want to save these for yourself? Download RealPlayer here and click away.

This Sunday is Super Bowl XLIII. It’s a major underdog vs. old dog. The ads are going to be great. It’s free entertainment. Watch them. Tell us what you liked best. We’ll compile the best ads and put them on the blog next week, where they’ll be yours to download.

Apple’s infamous 1984 Ad:

A Painful Bud Light ad…

And Wasssup with this ad? Haven’t seen these guys in awhile…

And cowboys herding cats…

Nothin’ but Net…

And don’t forget to do something manly… (My fave)

The original Bud. Weis.Er frogs

What are your favorite ads of all time? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
