Music Roundup: The Fray and Holiday…Cheer?

Want to see The Fray for free?

Are you a fan of The Fray? They made it big with their hit song “How to Save a Life” which played in one of Grey’s Anatomy’s rare overly-dramatic scenes… Anyways, the song is great and they’ve garnered quite the following with their follow-up new single “Say When”, streaming exclusively on Rhapsody. It’s the perfect music for the season of love, which is why Rhapsody, along with VH1 is giving you a chance to win a trip to see them in New York on February 4th. That’s practically Valentine’s Day and what is more romantic than The Fray? Absolutely nothing.

If you don’t believe me, head on over to their Rhapsody page and give them a listen. While you’re reminiscing about that girl who never called you back or the guy that thought your best friend was way hotter than you (not speaking from experience,of course), enter the contest so you can take your flavor of the week to the most romantic show in one of the coolest cities ever.

Happy Holidays and Bahumbug!

Tis the season for giving. Tis the season for joy and for Holiday music to be blurted out from every speaker in every shopping mall, electronics store and restaurant from November 1- Jan 2. That’s two months, folks. Two months of the same songs over and over and over again. And you know what? Some people totally love it. They love the snow covered trees real or fake). They love the jingle bells ringing as they turn ever corner. They love the scent of Christmas tree flowing through their homes.

If this sounds like you, well, you’re in for a treat! We got in the giving mood too. Cruise on over to Rhapsody’s MP3 store and download a free Holiday MP3 every day through Christmas. And you can play them at your holiday party, or on Christmas eve, or at your desk, all day long until January 2. Then it would be weird if you kept playing them. So, enjoy your free music!

Now, if you’re reading this and thinking “Blech- If I hear another holiday song, I’m going to personally hunt Santa down,” well, have no fear. Because I tend to fall in the latter category here. I, like most people, like the holidays but I get sick of it before December even starts. So, for those of you who feel the same way, I’ve created a playlist that’s a little bit…nontraditional. It’s a little punk, a little rock, a little electronica. And I can listen to these songs without nausea building up

Whichever style you choose- we certainly hope you have an excellent holiday season!
