Reality Check: It’s a Wrap!
Fall of 2009 was a crazy one for the RealPlayer team. After the beta launch of RealPlayer SP in June, we took to the skies to spread the word about RealPlayer SP via a Reality Check. Social Media Club, Roxanne Darling (project manager), and 11 host cities did an amazing job of pulling together content creators, video consumers, PR pros, casual bloggers, and tech savvy people from every corner of the country (and Australia!) to check out our wares.
The Reality Check website has a rundown of each event, including videos put together by local videographers. Each post also has the Twitter handle of some of the participants in the videos, which is a great way to get to know some folks who are interested in web video and vlogging. We had different experiences in each city, and all were really valuable. There is truly no better way to get feedback about a product then crowd-sourcing. We were given so much great feedback, took a few punches, made a lot of friends, created new fans, and even helped a great cause! Much of the feedback has been given to our product team and we are looking forward to incorporating some of those suggestions into the next version of RealPlayer.
Below are a few of the videos from our tour. As always, we welcome your feedback and would love to hear anything you’ve got to say about RealPlayer or the Reality Check tour. And, if you managed to see us on one of our stops, thanks for coming out and saying, “Hi!”
Lacy – Thanks for your wrap up and for the engagement on your part, Oona’s and RealplayerSP. It was a packed agenda, and lots of ideas generated.
I really applaud RealPlayer for putting you on the road and inviting feedback from the Social Media Club members – as a rule the group does not hold back with opinions!
You’ve set the bar much higher for how companies and customers of all types (former, new, as yet untapped) can share information and motivation to make products and content more interesting, useful, and even monetizable. (My spell checker does not like that word, but you get my drift!)
Aloha,
Roxanne
I found out today that all the websites that I could download videos from with realplayer, like YouTube, now won’t let you. What happened? I have uninstalled and re-installed several times and it just will not work. Please help.
Nothing has changed with the product in the last several months so this is probably a bug. If you’d like to email me your details of the problem we can help get you squared away. You’ve made sure that you’re using the latest version of RealPlayer SP?
