RealPlayer SP Shows 140 Conference on Demand

RealPlayer SP has been busy in the social media world as of late. We started working with the social media club in July and continue to do so through our Reality Check series focused on web video. We continued in August as a sponsor of Gnomedex and our latest foray has been with the 140 Characters Conference in Los Angeles. The 140Conf, as it has come to be known, took place this past Tuesday and Wednesday at the glorious Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

On Monday we hosted the official VIC (Very Important Characters) party at Twist Restaurant and Bar in the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Over 200 of Twitter’s elite were on hand to sample some tasty beverages and network in a way that only they know how. Some familiar faces in the crowd included Solieil Moon Frye (@moonfrye) of Punky Brewster fame, Stefanie Michaels, probably better know as @adventuregirl, Dave Winer, (@DaveWiner) inventor of the podcast and RSS, Amy Martin (@DigitalRoyalty), who has the coolest job ever as the social media queen in the sports world, the founder of the 140Conf, Jeff Pulver (@JeffPulver) and many many others.

Too see all of our photos of the party, check out or Flickr photo stream here.

The meat of our sponsorship came in the form of filming the sessions and putting them on various platforms to be watched on demand. The conference had over 1250 attendees, but there are certainly thousands more around the world who share a keen interest in the topics discussed at the event. The sessions ranged from celebrity bloggers talking about how they use Twitter to study and share information on celebrities to the current state of journalism. There were sessions about sports, motherhood, and the future of communications. There really was something for everyone. So, if you missed the show and want to check out the videos, let us help! We’re currently showing on YouTube and Blip.TV. YouTube has the shorter sessions whereas Blip has everything that has been uploaded thus far.

These videos are not copy protected. In fact, we encourage you to share them, download them, watch them whenever and wherever you want. This brings us to an important question. Why did RealPlayer SP feel the need to get involved with 140Conf? It’s simple. We want to talk to you about how you use video. What we’re learning is that you want it to be easier for you to watch video any time, any where. With our downloader and video converter you can do that. These videos aren’t so long in length, which is ideal for conversion to your phone. If you don’t already know how to convert videos to your phone in just a couple clicks, be sure to check out this video.  The rest of the 140Conf videos will be up in the coming days. Be sure to check them out. You definitely want to know what you were missing.
